Metabolic Efficiency 
​The ultimate test for the athlete. The metabolic efficiency point (MEP) evaluates the body's efficiency at using fat as a fuel during exercise. This test is specifically designed for those athletes looking to monitor and improve their metabolic efficiency. It will identify the crossover point, determine maximal fat oxidation rate (FatMAX) and help define energy requirements (carbohydrate replenishment) during extensive endurance training and racing. 

The metabolic efficiency test gives you valuable insight into your endurance capacity.
Whether you are an Ironman triathlete, runner, cyclist, pursue other long distance endeavors or simply want a rigorous assessment for health. The test looks specifically at low to moderate effort levels. Identify your aerobic economy (Zone 2) and your metabolic efficiency (fat utilization) to maximize your efforts and achieve high performance results!

LOW LEVEL INTENSITY
Incremental assessments are low level exertion tests and are done running on a treadmill or biking (using your own bike on a Computrainer device).

The basis for any metabolic evaluation, the Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test estimates the number of calories burned at rest to determine baseline caloric needs.
